Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka UGET Exam

COMEDK is the "Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka" - an autonomous merit determination authority consisting of senior academicians and reputed administrative officers who have been associated with the educational eco system. This autonomous COMEDK was entrusted the responsibility to organize testing procedures to determine the merit of aspiring students in an effective, fair, transparent and non-exploitative procedure by KPCF (Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation - Medial & Dental) and KUPECA (Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association).

COMEDK has been serving 16 Medical, 24 Dental and around 150 Engineering Colleges. COMEDK since its inception in 2004-05 has been conducting the annual entrance exam for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the participating institutions and has also been organizing single window centralized counseling process over the last 15 years.

COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2026-2027. COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window system).

Based on the notice released by COMEDK, the entrance test is historically conducted on the second Sunday of May every year. Keeping with this tradition, the UGET - 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, the 10th of May, 2026.

COMEDK holds the responsibility of conducting the entrance examination and seat selection process based on a single common entrance test followed by centralized counselling to students seeking admissions in their member institutions so as to ensure fair and merit-based admissions as envisaged in the judgement. The test will be Computer-Based and will be conducted on an All-India basis across the country to facilitate the students to appear in the test closer to their homes and is aimed at minimizing the cost of travel and other logistics.

The COMEDK UGET Entrance Test is conducted exclusively for undergraduate engineering programs (B.E./B.Tech), following the government mandate making the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) compulsory for all medical and dental admissions across India.

For the academic year 2026–27, COMEDK scheduled the online examination across India on Saturday, May 9, 2026. The computer-based test took place across multiple test centres for engineering programs offering approximately 20,000 seats, which will be allocated through centralized online counselling.

The structural pattern for the engineering entrance exam remains as follows

• Medium of Examination will be ENGLISH only.
• Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark.
• There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
• Total marks would be 180.
