The Dharmendra Pradhan has sought a detailed report from the Central Board of Secondary Education following widespread complaints regarding technical glitches during the ongoing CBSE board examination re-evaluation and verification process.

According to reports, students and parents across the country faced several issues while accessing the CBSE re-evaluation portal, including:
- Server downtime
- Payment gateway failures
- Login issues
- Delayed payment confirmations
- Problems downloading scanned answer sheets
The matter gained attention after many students alleged difficulties in submitting requests for answer sheet verification and re-evaluation within the prescribed deadline.
The Central Board of Secondary Education acknowledged the technical problems and stated that the unusually high number of applications submitted within a short duration caused heavy traffic on the portal. The board clarified that more than 98.6 lakh answer sheets were evaluated this year using the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
Under the revised process introduced this year, students were allowed to first obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets before applying for verification or re-evaluation. However, several candidates reportedly encountered blurred images, missing pages, and doubts regarding unchecked or incorrectly marked answers.
In response to the concerns, Dharmendra Pradhan reportedly took serious note of the issue and directed CBSE officials to submit a comprehensive report regarding the technical disruptions and corrective actions taken by the board.
CBSE Extends Re-evaluation Deadline
The Central Board of Secondary Education has assured students that their academic interests will remain protected despite the technical challenges faced during the process.
To reduce inconvenience, the board has:
- Extended the application deadline till May 24, 2026
- Initiated technical interventions to stabilise the portal
- Allowed the re-evaluation portal to remain open for two days after dispatch of the final scanned copy
The board has appealed to students and parents not to panic and stated that the verification mechanism exists to address genuine concerns in a transparent and fair manner.
Revised CBSE Fee Structure 2026
CBSE has also revised the fee structure for re-evaluation and verification this year, significantly reducing costs for students.
Updated Fees:
- Scanned copy of answer sheet: Rs 100
- Verification fee: Rs 100
- Re-evaluation fee: Rs 25 per question
Earlier, students had to pay substantially higher fees for these services.
Issues Raised by Students
Several students and parents highlighted concerns such as:
- Missing pages in scanned answer sheets
- Difficulty accessing the portal during peak hours
- Delayed OTP and payment confirmations
- Doubts over unchecked responses
- Problems with re-evaluation submissions
The board stated that teams are continuously monitoring the system and implementing corrective measures to ensure smooth processing of applications.
CBSE Re-evaluation Process
The re-evaluation system allows students to:
- Obtain scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets
- Apply for verification of marks
- Request re-evaluation of specific questions
The revised mechanism was introduced after concerns were raised regarding the transparency of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation system.
