Pensioners can choose their banks for pension; integrated pensioners' portal 'Bhavishya' launched

With the launch of Integrated Pensioners' Portal Bhavishya, Central Government Pensioners can now choose which bank they want to maintain their pension account in.

Presently only integrated with SBI, it will soon spread to all 16 pension disbursing Banks in the country. SBI pensioners, with the help of Bhavishya Portal for Pension Payment and Tracking System, can get all information and services at one place with single login.

Once it is available in all the banks, retirees can choose a bank and branch for opening an online pension account, check their monthly pension slips, form 16, status of life certificate as well as change their pension disbursing bank through Bhavishya.

Initially the services shall be available to 1.7 lakh Central Government Civil pensioners whose cases have been processed through Bhavishya and subsequently shall be extended to all the central government pensioners.
Bhavishya has recently been rated as the 3rd best portal among all Government of India service portals by National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA).

The present avatar of Bhavishya is the result of merger of many other pension portals such as Cpengrams, Anubhav, Anudaan, Sankalp & Pension Dashboard.

The Bhavishya platform was made mandatory for all central government departments since January 01, 2017. "This system, at present is being successfully implemented in the main Secretariat of 97 Ministries/Departments including 815 Attached Offices, along with 7,902 DDOs on board.

Mission LiFE launched at the Statue of Unity, Gujarat by PM Modi

Mission LiFE campaign aims to roll back climate change and carbon emission with increased adoption of clean, green and sustainable energy. The objectives are to influence behaviour at 3 levels namely individuals, industry and policy-making. First is by promoting demands of green products and services among individuals, second is by their production by industries, and the third is by making climate-friendly policies at governmental levels. The annual per capita carbon footprint in India is only about 1.5 tonnes, compared to the world average of 4 tonnes per year. India is ranked fourth in wind energy and fifth in solar energy. India's renewable energy capacity has increased by about 290 percent in the last 7-8 years. We have also achieved the target of achieving 40 percent of the electric capacity from non-fossil-fuel sources 9 years ahead of the deadline. PM Modi believes that the National Hydrogen Mission will help India and many countries of the world to achieve their goal of net zero carbon emission.

Rozgar Mela – recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel – to be launched on 22 October

In the first batch, some 75,000 new appointees will be handed their Appointment Letters on the day. They will fill various posts across 38 Ministries/Departments of Government of India. The new appointees will serve as Central Armed Force Personnel, Sub Inspector, Constable, LDC, Steno, PA, Income Tax Inspectors, MTS, among many others.

Election Commission National Media Awards

Election Commission invites applications from Media Houses for the National Media Award for best campaign on Voter’s Education and Awareness 2022. There shall be four awards, one each for Print media, Television (Electronic), Radio (Electronic) and Online (Internet)/Social media. The awards are to recognise the outstanding contribution by Media Houses to promote electoral participation. The awards will be in the form of a citation, plaque and cash prize. It will be presented on the National Voter’s Day: 25th January, 2023.

India to achieve billion dollar defence export target by 2025

India is looking to increase defence production from USD 12 billion to USD 22 billion by 2025, said the Defence Minister addressing a seminar organised by US-India Business Council (UIBC) and Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) as part of the 12th DefExpo in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He also said that we are going full throttle to achieve billion dollar defence export target by 2025. A project agreement to co-develop Air-Launched UAVs was signed on the occasion. The talks are on between defence equipment manufacturing companies of the 2 countries to explore additional DTTI projects, such as a counter unmanned aerial systems and an Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance platform.
