CBSE alters Class 11, 12 question paper format

The examination format for Classes 9 and 10 remains unchanged. While CBSE has introduced significant modifications for Class 11 and 12 exams, it has clarified that the examination format for Classes 9 and 10 will remain consistent, ensuring uniformity across grade levels.

As part of the changes, the proportion of competency-focused questions, including multiple-choice questions (MCQs), case-based questions, and source-based integrated questions, will increase from 40% to 50%. Conversely, the percentage of constructed response questions, comprising both short and extended answers, will decrease from 40% to 30%.

This initiative is anticipated to mark a significant change in students' study methodologies, shifting from mere memorization to a comprehensive grasp of concepts. It aims to enable students to foster creativity, innovation, and a profound understanding of the subjects they engage with.
