IIT Madras NPTEL has translated 174 technical courses, including popular ones like 'Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms Using Python', into Tamil. This initiative involves 682 translators and 51 Quality Control (QC) experts dedicated to ensuring the quality of the translations.

Moreover, NPTEL has published 159 e-books in Tamil on its website, providing additional resources for Tamil-speaking learners. Additionally, there are audio embeds available for 906 hours of video content in Tamil, which has garnered positive feedback from learners for its accessibility and clarity.
Efforts are ongoing to broaden the translation project. For instance, courses like 'Introduction to Machine Learning' are currently being translated into Hindi using machine learning tools, with voiceovers being added to improve accessibility.
NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a collaborative effort between the IITs and IISc, supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India. Launched in 2003, its primary aim was to extend high-quality education to every corner of the nation. Over time, NPTEL has evolved to offer a wide array of certification courses every semester to students and professionals throughout India.
The scope of NPTEL has expanded significantly. Initially conceived with the goal of democratizing access to quality education nationwide, NPTEL now boasts a diverse catalogue of over 700 certification courses each semester, spanning 22 different disciplines.
